Delhi Capitals have produced some brilliant cricket in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Last night, they kept up their good way to reach the Qualifier 2 beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by two wickets at Visakhapatnam. Now they will take on Chennai Super Kings to set up a final clash with Mumbai Indians on Sunday. However, all is not happy in the Delhi camp as senior fast bowler Trent Boult is unhappy with less opportunities in the ongoing IPL.

Meanwhile, Trent Boult played the tournament opener against Mumbai Indians. Since then, they had to wait for Kagiso Rabada’s exit due to injury to get another opportunity. However, Boult has failed to live up to the expectations in whatever limited opportunities he has got. The Kiwi speedster has played four games from the same number of games but has shelled 9.53 runs from an over. Boult said that he has tried to be physically fit and tried to be in the right frame of mind.

Disappointed with fewer games: Boult

Although Trent Boult sounded disappointed for not getting enough chances, he said that the team have performed well and played some consistent cricket throughout the season. Boult came into the tournament to prepare himself ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019, but less game time has hurt his preparation for the marquee event.

“Was looking to be physically fit and in the right head space to be prepared when I do get an opportunity. Had been working out in the gym and looked to find a purpose at training.

“The conditions are tough, and I looked to be ready for my chance. We got a squad which has the required balance and we have played consistent cricket. Have been a bit disappointed having not played too many games myself, but then the boys have done really well,” he added.

Speaking about the positives from this season, Trent Boult said that it has been a unique season for them. He also added that it has been a learning curve for him rubbing shoulder with different players. Boult said that he is still learning to bowl at alien conditions and this season has helped him to attain his goal. In conclusion, Boult too feels that the duo of head coach Ricky Ponting and advisor Sourav Ganguly have had a major role in promoting fearless cricket in the Delhi Capitals team.
