Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has advanced to the IPL 2019 Final after beating Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2019 at Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium (Visakhapatnam) on Friday (10th May) night. In the Final of IPL 2019 (12th May), CSK will play against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Hyderabad (Deccan).

CSK captain MS Dhoni decided to field first after winning the toss. While DC managed to score 147/9 (20 overs), CSK reached the target in 19 overs after losing four wickets.

CSK – 151/4 in 19 overs (Shane Watson 50, Faf du Plessis 50; Trent Boult 1/20)

i) Shreyas Iyer becomes the second most-capped IPL captain for the Delhi franchise. It was his 24th match as IPL captain for the Delhi franchise. While he surpassed Zaheer Khan (23 matches), only Virender Sehwag (52 matches) is now ahead in this list.

ii) Kiwi left-arm pacer Trent Boult has picked up 23 IPL wickets for the Delhi franchise and becomes the leading IPL wicket-taker as the left-arm overseas bowler for the Delhi franchise. Their former left-arm pacer Dirk Nannes is now in the second position in this list with 22 IPL wickets.

i) Leg-spinner Imran Tahir has bagged 24 wickets in IPL 2019. It is the joint most wickets for a spinner in an IPL season. Sunil Narine (24 wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2012) and Harbhajan Singh (24 wickets for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2013) also achieved this feat before Tahir.

ii) Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh becomes the fourth bowler to pick up 150 IPL wickets as he has taken 150 IPL wickets by the end of this match. Other three bowlers who already achieved this feat are Lasith Malinga (169 wickets), Amit Mishra (157 wickets) and Piyush Chawla (150 wickets).

iii) Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja is now the most IPL wicket-taker as a left-arm bowler with 108 IPL wickets. During this match, he surpassed the former left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra who took 106 IPL wickets.

iv) By the end of this match, Ravindra Jadeja has taken 150 T20 wickets.

v) Former Australian international cricketer Shane Watson (51 sixes) becomes the fifth batsman to hit 50 or more IPL sixes for CSK. First four CSK players to achieve this feat were MS Dhoni (179 sixes), Suresh Raina (171 sixes), Murali Vijay (68 sixes) and Dwayne Smith (50 sixes).
