Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has delivered an injury update on star pacer Trent Boult. The defending IPL champions will lock horns against Delhi Capitals in the all-important final on Tuesday (November 10). The Rohit Sharma-led side is eyeing a record fifth IPL title.

There are, however, question marks over the participation of Trent Boult in the game. The left-arm fast bowler had suffered a groin injury in the first Qualifier against Delhi Capitals last week. He had to walk off the field during the 14th over of Delhi Capitals’ innings after picking up the injury and didn’t return to the field for the remainder of the game.

Mumbai Indians did not miss him much as they went on to win the game by 57 runs. Trent Boult, however, had played a big role in the win by giving his side a stunning start with the bat. He had picked up 2 wickets for 9 runs off two overs, dismissing Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane for ducks in the very first over.

Rohit Sharma delivers update:

On the eve of the final, Rohit Sharma stated that he is hopeful of Trent Boult’s participation in the game. The Mumbai Indians skipper said that the fast-bowler is looking ‘pretty good’ and looks set to play the final.

“Trent looks pretty good. He’s gonna have a session today with all of us, he has pulled up pretty well in the last two days. So, fingers crossed, hopefully he plays,” Sharma said.

Boult has played a big role in Mumbai’s march to the final so far. In 14 games this season, he has picked up 22 wickets at an average of 19.40 and is currently the third highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
