Rohit Sharma, on Tuesday, once again showed why is he loved and respected so much by his Mumbai Indians teammates. After his horrible mix-up with Suryakumar Yadav in the final against Delhi Capitals, the Mumbai Indians captain had stated that he should have sacrificed his wicket for his in-form teammate.

The incident had taken place in the 11th over of the match when Rohit Sharma played a Ravichandran Ashwin towards mid-off and set off for a quick single straightaway. Suryakumar Yadav, however, was not at all willing to take the tight run but eventually decided to sacrifice his wicket after seeing his captain standing right beside him at the non-striker’s end.

“We made sure Ishan and Surya had confidence – just have to let Ishan loose, and Surya is a more matured player. The kind of form he was in, I should have sacrificed my wicket for Surya. But throughout the tournament he has played some incredible shots,” said Rohit Sharma.
