In a number of tight encounters, the Royals lost the plot. While two heavy defeats towards the end of the league stage – against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) – hurt their Net Run Rate (NRR), they also finished second in thrilling games against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Mumbai Indians (MI), and RCB.

“We play 14 matches and that can happen” – Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal, the star leg-spinner of Rajasthan Royals, shared his thoughts on the Rajasthan Royals’ performance in the 2023 IPL season. According to him, the team had a good start in the first half but their performance dipped in the second half.

“Look, as I said this happens. We play 14 matches and that can happen. It’s not just with us, there are other teams as well who have gone through the same thing. They had performed in the first half but the performance dipped in the second. I won’t give much excuses but it’s just that we didn’t play well,” Yuzvendra Chahal said in a conversation with News18.
