Devon Conway, who won the Player-of-the-Match title in the IPL 2023 final, praised Gujarat Titans batsman Sai Sudharsan for his outstanding performance. Conway believes Sudharsan delivered an outstanding performance that contributed considerably to the team’s win.

Conway led the charge in the game’s second innings, hitting 47 runs off just 25 balls to set the tone on Tuesday, May 30.

According to Conway, Sudharsan’s participation was notable and had a considerable impact on the Gujarat Titans’ scoreboard. Sudharsan’s superb batting talents, which were on full show in the final, surely played a vital influence in the team’s good score.

Ambati Rayudu’s cameo didn’t seem like much but it was certainly game-changing. So yeah, I was surprised, but at the end of the day, I don’t worry about winning or missing out on individual awards. Winning trophies together as a group is what I dream of”

Conway’s innings were supported by the other CSK batters who went hammer and tongs in the final match. Ravindra Jadeja hit a six and a four in the final two balls of the match to clinch the record-equalling 5th IPL title for CSK.

Devon Conway, a cricketer for the Chennai Super Kings, recently commented on this, claiming that “the culture is set right at the top.”

“The culture is set right at the top. There’s a family feel. They all go the extra mile to make you feel welcome. Last year they organized a wedding celebration for us with a South Indian theme. It was a massive surprise for me, I didn’t even have an inkling of how much went into that, especially in a bio-bubble. Kim [Conway’s wife] joined in via Zoom,” Devon Conway said.

“They organized some amazing decor, great food, traditional clothes, and music. It was a fun evening like no other. And everyone played a part in it – those I knew, those I was just getting to know. That creates great vibes and a sense of belonging,” Devon Conway said in an interview with ESPNCricinfo.

“On the cricketing front, there’s continuity. Players know if they’re being picked, they will be backed, come what may. They don’t worry about what happens if they’re smashed for 50 runs in four overs or if they get three single-digit scores in a row. There’s space for players to get better, flourish and improvise without that added pressure or scrutiny. It makes players confident about what they’re going to do,” Devon Conway added.

Chennai Super Kings won the Indian Premier League 2023 final by 5 wickets against Gujarat Titans. In the final match at Ahmedabad, CSK chased down a difficult goal of 171 runs in 15 overs, despite repeated delays over the course of two days.
