Shivam Dube was part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2023. The all-rounder revealed MS Dhoni’s golden words that made him happy. MS Dhoni told Shivam Dube that he can win matches on his own. The left-handed batsman played a crucial role for Chennai Super Kings in the middle order.

With his ability to smash big boundaries, he helped the team to accelerate the scoreboard in the middle-over. Shivam Dube hit 418 runs in 16 games in IPL 2023, striking the ball at 158+. He also smacked 3 half-centuries and as many as 35 sixes in the season.

Felt Very Happy When MS Dhoni Told Me That I Could Win Some Matches On My Own: Shivam Dube

Recently, Shivam Dube became the brand ambassador of Parimatch Sports. Interacting to the media during a promotional event of the company in Hyderabad on Thursday (June 22), the 29-year-old player opened up about his IPL 2023 stint with CSK.

“Honestly, there was not much of a change in my batting in the just-concluded IPL season. The best part being the kind of support and backing by the entire CSK as such including captain Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni), teammates and support staff. All of them wanted me to do better this season,” Shivam Dube said, as quoted by Sportstar.

Dube also revealed the golden praises he received from CSK skipper MS Dhoni that made him happy.

“I felt very happy when Mahi bhai told me that I could win some matches on my own. That lifted my confidence level a lot. Like for every player, I dream about playing for India in all three formats. And I will try to realise this goal by upgrading myself and keep improving in every department of the game,” the right-arm medium pacer further said.

He also mentioned that in the CSK team, everyone believes in the team’s favor. Everyone in the team wants to win the match for the team and not focus on individual happiness.

“In CSK, all of us believe in the team’s cause. Like, even if I do well and the team loses, it doesn’t make me happy. All of us want the team to win and make everyone happy and not look for individual happiness,” said Shivam Dube, who has played 1 ODI and 13 T20Is for India so far.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won the IPL 2023 season after defeating Gujarat Titans in the final by 5 wickets. Led by MS Dhoni, the men-in-yellow won their 5th IPL title in the tournament.
