The IPL 2023 auction is all set to be organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in mid-December and the likely date for the auction is December 16. Also, the matter has already been discussed by the BCCI with ten franchises during informal interactions, as per a Cricbuzz report.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction is reportedly set to be a mini auction and the purse of the franchises will be INR 95 crore, which is INR 5 crore more than last year. Each franchise will have at least INR 5 crore in its reserves to proceed with the auction, which can be increased by releasing and trading players.

The date of the commencement of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is not known yet. However, reports claim that the marquee tournament may begin in the fourth week of March.

Also, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly has confirmed that the Indian Premier League will return to the home-away format from the IPL 2023 season.

“The next season of men’s IPL will also go back to the home and away format with all ten teams playing their home matches at their designated venues,” read a Ganguly’s note to state units.

On March 24, just a few days before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 commenced MS Dhoni handed over the CSK captaincy to Jadeja. However, Chennai Super Kings struggled under Jadeja’s captaincy as they won only 2 games and faced 6 defeats.

Jadeja’s form with bat and ball also took a massive blow as in the 15th edition of the cash-rich league he scored 112 runs and bagged 5 wickets. In the middle of the season, Jadeja decided to hand back the captaincy to Dhoni to focus more on his game. Later, he was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.

Meanwhile, Jadeja removed all posts related to the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and 2022 campaigns from his official Instagram account, which was a clear indication that things are not good between the player and the franchise.

If the reports are to be believed, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are looking for a trade for star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. He can also be released by the franchise completely.

The Chennai Super Kings have approached the IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans (GT) for a swap with young opening batsman Shubman Gill. However, GT have rejected CSK’s offer.

Meanwhile, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 champions have also received trade requests for star finisher Rahul Tewatia and spinner R Sai Kishore, but they have declined the offers.
