Gujarat Titans (GT) batter Sai Sudarshan said that winning Indian Premier League (IPL) title last year helped his confidence. He also spoke about his game plans and highlighted that despite Kane Williamson being out of the tournament, he’ll be in touch with him as they both exchanged words related to the game.

Sudarshan is among the few young Indian batters who have set the stage on fire so far in the IPL 2023. The southpaw has shown great composure and has taken the responsibility for his team, playing two crucial knocks in the two games so far.

“There are no personal goals, we have to retain the title. I must use this opportunity to do better for the team. Winning the IPL last year helped my confidence and it reflected in my domestic campaign as well. I’m not looking to change my game significantly. I’m just trying to play the situation and win the situation. When the situation arises (where I have to bat at a higher strike rate), I will also rise up to the challenge.”

GT vs KKR: “I observed him a few times in practice,” Sai Sudarshan on Kane Williamson

The batter also spoke about learning different things from Williamson and explained that it’s a great opportunity for players like him to adapt to different conditions and score.

He further added: “I observed him a few times in practice. The way he even approaches even a practice session was remarkable. It was great to exchange thoughts with a player like him and I’ll definitely be in touch with him.

“It is a great opportunity to adapt and to play in different conditions. Adaptability is very important when you’re travelling. The fans here in Ahmedabad are so supportive, so I’m really looking forward to playing more in front of them.”

Sai Sudarshan will be next seen in action when GT will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next game on Sunday (9th April) at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.
