ICC World Cup 2023: MP Shashi Tharoor Dejected After BCCI Did Not Allocate WC 2023 Matches To Thiruvananthapuram

ICC World Cup 2023 promises to be an intriguing tournament as all the teams are evenly matched. MP Shashi Tharoor was disappointed that there were no matches allotted to Thiruvananthapuram. Shashi Tharoor questioned why Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad is being made the new cricket capital of the country.

The World Cup is coming back to India after the glorious 2011 WC in which the Men in Blue dictated the terms and ended the drought of 28 years. India though can’t rely on home advantage as due to IPL the overseas players have gotten accustomed to the conditions.

The defending champions England are without their star players Eoin Morgan & Ben Stokes (*due to retirement) as filling their shoes would be quite tough for the players in the marquee ODI WC 2023.

England are all set to start their defence on 5th October against the 2019 finalists New Zealand. There is uncertainty regarding the availability of Kane Williamson due to injury but it is believed he would travel to India for WC 2023 as a mentor as his experience would be invaluable.

The best cricket stadium in India is missing from WC 2023 fixture list – MP Shashi Tharoor

MP Shashi Tharoor took to his social media handle and stated that Thiruvananthapuram is the best cricket stadium in India despite it being missing from the WC 2023 fixtures and asked the BCCI if that couldn’t the venue host a couple of matches
