Virat Kohli and Steve Smith have not let their rivalry affect the ever-growing camaraderie between them. One of the best moments between the two was witnessed during the 2019 World Cup match between India and Australia.

After serving a one-year ban for the ball-tampering scandal, Steve Smith returned to international cricket through the World Cup and received a hostile reception from the opposition fans. And when the Indian fans also did the same during the game, Virat Kohli intervened.

The then-India skipper was batting at that time and he decided to take a stand for Smith. Between the overs, he dissuaded the fans from doing so and asked them to cheer him instead. Later, the India star was presented with the ICC’s ‘2019 Spirit of Cricket’ award for his gesture.

The strong friendship between Steve Smith and Virat Kohli was evident once again after the former shared a clip featuring the latter’s hilarious antics on the field during the third ODI between India and Australia in Rajkot.

During a drinks break when Steve Smith was sitting on a chair and receiving treatment from the physio as he battled intense heat in Rajkot, Virat Kohli decided to have some fun. The former India skipper approached Steve Smith’s batting partner Marnus Labuschagne. He was seen poking Labuschagne’s belly before showing off some hilarious dance moves.

Sharing the clip on his Instagram story, Steve Smith tagged Virat Kohli and wrote: “Nice moves.”

Talking about the game, Australia beat India by 66 runs to avoid a whitewash and end their 5-match losing streak in ODIs. India won the three-match series after winning the first two games.

Batting first, Australia posted a mammoth total of 352 for 7 in the allotted 50 overs with David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith, and Labuschagne scoring fifties. In reply, India were all out for 286 despite fifties from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
