Former South African cricketer Faf du Plessis picked the top four bowlers for the ICC World Cup 2023. The Proteas legend left out Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and instead picked Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav as two Indian bowlers. 

Apart from Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav, Faf du Plessis picked Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada as the other two pacers, who will be the leading bowlers in the ICC World Cup 2023. The tournament will begin on 5th October in India.

Faf du Plessis also noted that if the wickets will favour spin then Kuldeep Yadav will be extremely dangerous as he spins the ball both ways. He added: 

“But if there is a little bit of spin, you know, someone like Kuldeep has bowled really well in the last six months. When he gets his tail up and he gets one wicket, you know, the next batter’s coming in, he’s quite tricky to face his first few balls because he spins the ball both ways.”

Former Australia captain Aaron Finch has heaped praise on Mohammed Siraj, saying that the India pacer is one of the best bowlers in the world at present.

But the last two years have been all about Mohammed Siraj. He is now an indispensable part of India’s Test and ODI teams and is currently the number-one ODI bowler in the world.

St. Lucia Kings captain Faf du Plessis has been ruled out of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 due to a tennis elbow injury. Faf du Plessis is set to undergo surgery for his tennis elbow injury in South Africa, which is expected to sideline him from action for at least three months.

Faf du Plessis sustained the injury during a 54-run victory against the Trinbago Knight Riders on Saturday, August 26. Despite the injury, the right-handed batter managed to score 57 runs off 30 deliveries. Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza will lead the team for the remainder of the tournament.

The incident took place in the 20th over of MI New York’s innings. Daniel Sams bowled a full slower delivery outside off while defending 21 runs in the final over. Tim David mistimed the shot, and the ball went into no man’s land. Du Plessis ran from long on and dove forward to complete the catch.
