  • Babar Azam's Private Chat With PCB COO Leaked As Ex-Captain Azhar Ali Expresses Disappointment

Former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali expressed his disappointment after a journalist leaked Babar Azam’s private chat on the news. The current Pakistan captain is having a tough time at the moment as his team continues to struggle in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

Pakistan’s hopes of making it to the semifinal are hanging by a thread. They are currently languishing at the 6th spot in the points table with 2 wins and 4 losses. And the off-field controversies have only made things tougher for Babar Azam and his teammates. There were rumors of unrest in the dressing room before the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a statement to deny them.

And recently, former Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif sensationally claimed that the relationship between Babar Azam and PCB chief Zaka Ashraf has turned sour. He claimed that the PCB chairman was not replying to the captain’s message before stating that the players had not received their salaries from the last five months,

    Babar Azam’s private chat leaked:

Latif also claimed that other PCB officials such as Salman Naseer (Chief Operating Officer) and Usman Walha (Director – International Cricket) were ignoring Babar Azam’s messages too, saying:

“Babar Azam has been trying to contact the chairman for the past two days, but they are not responding. He is messaging Salman Naseer (Chief Operating Officer), he is messaging Usman Walha (Director – International Cricket). So, what is the reason for not responding to their captain?”

However, Pakistani journalist Shoaib Jatt has denied those claims by leaking the Pakistan captain’s private chat with PCB COO. In the leaked chat, Salman asked Babar Azam whether the rumors were true. In reply, the Pakistan batting superstar denied them by saying that he did not contact the PCB chief.  As the journalist was showing a screenshot of the chat, Azhar Ali, who was a part of the discussion panel, expressed his disappointment over the leak.

    Watch:

Pakistan will be in action again on Tuesday (October 31) when they take on Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They need to win the game at all cost to keep alive their slim chances of progressing to the semifinal.
