Pakistan Cricket team captain Babar Azam’s personal Whatsapp chats have been reportedly leaked online which has created a lot of controversy off late. Even the PCB got into the controversy after leaking the private conversation between Babar and a senior PCB official which was aired on live TV.

The controversy began after former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif said that Babar tried to contact several officials from the PCB such as Zaka Ashraf, Salman Naseer, and Usman Wahla, but received no response for two days.

To counter Latif’s claims PCB Chief Zaka Ashrag shared a screenshot of the Whatsapp conversation between Babar Azam and PCB’s Chief Operating Officer, Salman Naseer, with a sports journalist. Naseer in return questioned Babar on his poor captaincy record in this World Cup so far on which he denied any comment.

The sequence of events indicates to the lack of trust between the players and the officials of the PCB and Babar seems to be a soft target due to his and his team’s performance so far in this World Cup.

Pakistan need to win their remaining two matches against New Zealand and England by big margins and hope for a few other results to go their way if they are to make the semi-finals.
