Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and keeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan denied million-dollar deals from the betting companies as per the reports in The News. The reports suggested that two premier batters of the Men in Green were offered a total sum of Rs 350 million yearly contract. 

Babar Azam was reportedly offered 250 million whereas Mohammad Rizwan was offered Rs 100 million dollar. Recently Pakistan players clearly stated that they will not endorse or promote products related to tobacco, alcohol, surrogate batting products, pork items, and adult entertainment due to their religion, and culture, which has been the reason behind both the batters turning down the deals. 

1XBET betting company reportedly was impressed by Babar Azam’s social media platform and they offered him a huge amount of money. They informed him about the deal through the mail. The Pakistan skipper’s management denied the offer denied the offer. 

They stated: “Thank you. As Muslims, we do not support any betting or surrogate betting brands. Thank you for reaching out.”  

A similar kind of response was given by Mohammad Rizwan’s management to the betting company, which offered him 100 million rupees.

The reports in The News also suggested that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given image rights of both the batters to the betting companies without their consent. Those companies have used their pictures in digital ads against their will. 

“Babar, Rizwan along with others have clearly refused contracts from such companies yet the PCB along with PSL franchises has given their image rights to us.” Source stated. 

The source also revealed that a few PSL franchises also have been forcing players to wear the logo of surrogate betting companies at all costs.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are currently playing a crucial role for Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2023. The duo has been the backbone of the team in the tournament and the team’s qualification will rely on them a lot. The Men In Green have a good chance to qualify as they need to win their last game against England and hope some other results go in their favor.
