Pakistan’s cricket captain Babar Azam and the team went shopping and played golf in Kolkata during their day off from cricket. Pakistan players have had limited opportunities for outings during their World Cup 2023 campaign in India due to stringent security measures.

The Pakistan team took some time to explore various places in Kolkata, where they are preparing for their crucial match against England. This outing provided a much-needed break for the squad, given the tight schedule and training sessions throughout the event.

Watch – Pakistan Players Enjoy Outing In Kolkata

Several Pakistani cricketers, including Usama Mir, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Mohammad Haris, and Zaman Khan, visited a local shopping mall in Kolkata near their hotel. The players received a warm welcome from locals who wanted to take photos with them.

In addition to shopping for themselves, some players bought sarees for their family members based on Saud Shakeel’s advice. Pakistani cricketers seemed to enjoy their outing in the shopping mall and purchased items like sarees and shirts from local stores.

Babar, Grant Bradburn, Andrew Puttick, and Morne Morkel enjoyed a day of golf. The rest of the team spent their day off at the hotel, engaging in gym and swimming sessions. It’s likely to have boosted team morale, providing a refreshing change from their usual routine.

We’ve Been Under A Massive Amount Of Security – Mickey Arthur

Earlier, Pakistan’s Director of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, expressed frustration over the strict security measures for the players, likening the conditions to those of the COVID era.

“What has been tough is the fact that we’ve been under a massive amount of security. And to be fair, I found it difficult. It’s almost like we’ve been back in the COVID times, where you were almost secluded to your floor and your team room,” Arthur said, as quoted by TOI.

“So much so that their breakfast is in a separate room to everybody else. Our boys are used to being on the road. But when they’re on the road, they’ve still been able to get out and have meals at different places, and get out on their own accord, and we haven’t been able to do this time. That’s been tough and stifling.”
