Pakistan is scheduled to face defending champion England in their final league match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, November 11. The Pakistan team had a net practice session ahead of the must-win encounter in the World Cup.

India, South Africa, and Australia have secured their berths in the semi-finals, as no other team can reach 12 points at the end of the league stage. Pakistan, New Zealand, and Afghanistan are competing for the remaining spot to secure fourth place in the 10-team table.

Watch – Pakistan Team’s Practice Session In Kolkata

After a two-day break in Kolkata, the Pakistani squad engaged in an extensive three-hour net session on Wednesday. They focused on all three departments of the game in a full-fledged net session to prepare for the crucial encounter and stay alive in the tournament.

In a video shared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on its Instagram handle, Pakistan pacers can be seen sweating it out in the practice session. The fast bowlers troubled the batters with their high-skill bowling and induced edges during the net session.

Babar Azam Could Have Done Better As Captain – Manoj Tiwari

In an interview, Manoj Tiwary criticized Pakistan skipper Babar Azam for the team’s disappointing performances in the World Cup. Tiwary expressed his belief that, under the leadership of MS Dhoni, the current Pakistan team would be on a winning streak.

“Give same Pakistan team under leadership of MS Dhoni, I challenge that this team will be on a winning streak. I feel that Babar could have done better as captain, he needs to be proactive and think one step ahead, for example how he continued with Shadab’s bowling example despite seeing that he was struggling to find his rhythm. I think it is better to remove the struggling bowler if he is not able to deliver properly,” Tiwari said.

Pakistan secured only four wins out of eight matches they played, including a loss to the lower-ranked team, Afghanistan. They are currently in fifth place in the table with 8 points. They need to win their final league game and hope the other results are in their favor.
