Former Pakistan cricketer Wasim Akram lashed out at Sikander Bakht for suggesting that Team India is fixing tosses in the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Wasim Akram stated that Sikander Bakht created unnecessary controversy with his claim regarding Team India.
Sikander Bakht presented a conspiracy theory, suggesting that Indian skipper Rohit Sharma deliberately tosses the coin far from the opposition captain. Bakht stated that this tactic prevents the opposing captain from accurately verifying the outcome of the toss.
“Can I give you a conspiracy theory? If you see closely enough, whenever Rohit Sharma gets to flip the coin for the toss, he also tosses it far away from the other captain. It is almost far enough that the other captain never really gets to see what the actual outcome of the toss was,” Bakht said.
I Feel Embarrassed – Wasim Akram
Wasim Akram dismissed the theory, highlighting that the coin’s landing spot is not predetermined and is part of the show for sponsorship and visibility. He emphasized feeling embarrassed by such baseless theories circulating in Pakistan.
“Who says ki coin ne kaha land karna hai? Ye kisne kaha hai ki usne waha par coin fenkna hai? Vo toh sponsorship ke liye hai, dikhane ke liye hai. Kahi bhi chala jaye. I feel embarrassed (Who decides where the coin should land? It is just for sponsorship! I feel embarrassed),” Akram said.
You Will Get Us Humiliated As Well – Wasim Akram
Earlier, the legendary pacer responded to Hasan Raza’s theory about Team India getting a special set of white balls. Akram cautioned against embracing such unfounded theories, which could bring embarrassment and humiliation to Pakistan in front of the world.
“I have been reading about it for the last couple of days. I want to have the same thing these guys are having, sounds like fun because their mind is not there. You will embarrass yourself and you will get us humiliated as well in front of the whole world,” Akram told A Sports.
