India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma attended a press conference ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final and he was asked about the inclusion of the veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in the playing XI.

Ravichandran Ashwin was a last-minute addition to the Indian World Cup squad after Axar Patel got ruled out with an injury. The veteran off-spinner has so far featured only in one game in the World Cup, which was India’s tournament opener against the Aussies in Chennai.

Rohit Sharma responded to the question, saying that they haven’t made the decision regarding the playing XI and will pick the team based on the conditions on the day of the game. He said:

“We haven’t decided on it. We will assess the pitch and will see it again tomorrow. Our 12-13 are decided. But we will come and see what is our strength. We will decide tomorrow.”
