Former England National Cricket Team captain Michael Vaughan has named India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma as his Player of the Tournament for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
The Indian captain has done a fantastic job in leading the side in the ongoing edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup. He has been leading the team from the front by scoring quick runs in the powerplay and his on-field captaincy has been absolutely top-notch.
Rohit Sharma’s batting performances combined with his leadership skills have helped India to register 10 wins on the trot in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Team India just need to cross the one final hurdle to clinch the World Cup title and end their ICC trophy drought.
The summit clash of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will see a high-voltage battle between the Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Pat Cummins-led Australia National Cricket Team at the world’s largest cricket stadium – Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad – on Sunday, November 19.

Former England National Cricket Team captain Michael Vaughan is mighty impressed with the performance of Rohit Sharma and he picked the Indian captain as his Player of the Touranament.
“I would go as far as to say he is my player of the tournament … I believe that without Rohit all this does not happen, and India does not get as good,” Vaughan wrote in his column for The Telegraph.
Michael Vaughan also praised Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer for their magnificent performance in the ongoing edition of the World Cup.
“Kohli is in stupendous form and to score 50 ODI hundreds is extraordinary, and Iyer has become a magnificent player.”
In 10 innings, Rohit Sharma has smashed 550 runs at an amazing average of 55 and a strike rate of 124.15. On the other hand, Virat Kohli is the leading run-getter in the competition with 711 runs in 10 innings at an astonishing average of 101.57 and a strike rate of 90.68. Talking about Shreyas Iyer, he has scored 526 runs at an excellent average of 75.14 and a strike rate of 113.11.
