Virat Kohli looks to be a man on a mission as India takes on Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023. The final will be played in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19 with India chasing their third World Cup title.

Kohli was a part of the Indian team that won the 2011 World Cup title under MS Dhoni. He was an upciming talent at that point and 12 years down the line he is now a superstar of the game. He is a legend in his own right and is the best batter in the modern game.

Commentators have repeatedly spoken about Kohli’s brilliance in this World Cup so far. He is the top-scorer of the tournament having scored 711 runs in 10 matches so far at an average of 101.57 including three centuries and five fifties.

Kohli also scored his 50th ODI ton and overtook Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 49 ODI tons to create a record of his own. He also went past his tally of 673 runs that he scored in the 2003 World Cup to now score the most runs in a single edition of the World Cup and he is not finished yet.

Australians Respect Virat Kohli: Mohammad Kaif

Speaking to Star Sports ahead of the final, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif warned the Aussies not to sledge him in the final. He spoke about how Kohli loves top be challenged which brings the best out of him in a competitive scenario.

 

” Kohli has the maturity, the game sense, and of course the talent to bring out his best in tough situations. He has scored in tough games and he believes that he belongs on the international stage for India. The Australians do respect him. The likes of Mitchell Starc, and Pat Cummins all respect him” said Kaif.

Kaif further recalled the moment when former Australian head coach Justin Langer warned his players not to mess with Kohli in the famous 2020 series against Australia in Australia.

“Virat Kohli ka samman yahi hai, eye contact, sledging, woh hum sab kaa baap hai” Kaif concluded saying.
