Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star batsman, Ambati Rayudu decided to end his contract with St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (SNP) in the mid-Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2023 season due to personal reasons.

Ambati Rayudu played only three matches for the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the 2023 season of the Caribbean Premier League and scored 47 runs with a strike rate of 117.50.

The Indian batsman, Rayudu signed for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots as their marquee player and became the second Indian to take part in the Caribbean Premier League after Pravin Tambe.

Ambati Rayudu retired from international and Indian domestic cricket earlier in 2023. He also played an active role in helping Chennai Super Kings (CSK) win their fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy under MS Dhoni’s captaincy.

Not just Ambati Rayudu but Blessing Muzarabani too left CPL 2023 for personal reasons

It is not Rayudu, but Blessing Muzarabani, a Zimbabwean pacer also terminated his contract with the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots franchise for personal reasons.

In the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Muzarabani took part in three matches for his side and managed to take only one wicket with an economy rate of 10.61. Benny Howell and Will Smeed have been called by the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to replace them.

In the CPL 2023, the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are the only side who have failed to clinch a single win in the tournament after playing six matches. Patriots’ first two matches were canceled by the authority due to heavy rain and lost the next four games.

On the other hand, the Barbados Royal have called Carlos Brathwaite as their temporary replacement for their wicketkeeper-batter Donovan Ferreira who also failed to continue. Donovan Ferreira has been included in South Africa’s 16-member for the ongoing three-match T20I series against Australia for which he had to leave the league.

Donovan Ferreira took part in only one match in the ongoing CPL 2023 and scored just 19 runs. Carlos Brathwaite played 77 CPL matches for four franchises and will play for Barbados Royals for the first time. Brathwaite scored 822 runs in the Caribbean Premier League and picked 59 wickets. He last played in the CPL in 2021 and will make his return to the league for the Royals.

Ambati Rayudu last played for India in 2019 against Australia, after that, he took his retirement from international cricket.
