Abdul Razzaq, a former all-rounder for Pakistan, predicts that bowler Ihsanullah of the Multan Sultans may eventually be able to throw a ball at speeds close to 160 kph.

Ihsanullah helped his team bowl out Quetta Gladiators for 110 on Wednesday by taking five wickets in a four-over session while allowing only 12 runs to be scored.

Multan Sultans lost to Lahore Qalandars by one run in the first game of the Pakistan Super League, while Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by two runs in the second. The PSL encounter on Wednesday, however, was mostly one-sided, with the Sultans easily defeating Quetta Gladiators by 9 wickets at the Multan Cricket Ground.

Ihsanullah, a 20-year-old Pakistani bowler, had a memorable evening after recording astounding statistics of 5/12 in four overs. And throughout the game, it was his pace that had everyone’s attention. Ihsanullah beat Haris Rauf’s previous record of 144.16 to record the fastest stint in PSL history with an average speed of 144.37.

“I had seen him in the National T20 Cup ‘: Abdul Razzaq

Ihsanullah really bowled his first over at over 150 kph, dismissing Sarfaraz Ahmed, the skipper of Quetta.

After his outstanding performance for Multan Sultans in the match, former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq made a significant assertion about Ihsanullah when discussing his performance on Geo Super.

“When New Zealand came here, we selected him for the Test team. I had seen him in the National T20 Cup and he impressed me. If we work on him and he works on his fitness, I’m sure he can touch the 160kph mark. We have to look after such bowlers, and that’s the responsibility of PCB. We have to give chances to those who perform in the PSL,”  Abdul Razzaq said.

CricViz reported that Ihsanullah bowled with an average speed of 144.37 kph. He has surpassed Haris Rauf’s blistering spell against Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 7, in which the Qalandars’ bowler bowled at an average speed of 144.16 kph.
