Islamabad United won the toss and decided to bat against Quetta Gladiators in the 13th game of the current Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2023 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
It all happened on the third delivery of the fourth over, with Shadab Khan just one delivery old at the crease. Mohammad Hasnain bowled a good yorker-length delivery, which was blocked gently by Khan in the direction of the bowler.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, the Gladiators’ skipper, began the proceedings by handing the new ball to two of his best quicks, Mohammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah, and the decision paid rewards.
As Hasnain dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz (8 off 8) and Rassie van der Dussen (1 off 4), Naseem bowled at just five runs per Over during the Powerplay to reduce Islamabad’s score to 39/2.

From behind the wickets, the Pakistan players Shadab Khan, Hasnain, and Sarfaraz Ahmed indulged in one such brief moment of amusement, which had the potential to turn ugly.

Shadab was at the crease for his first delivery when it all transpired on the third delivery of the fourth Over. Khan carefully stopped a good yorker-length delivery that Hasnain had thrown in the bowler’s path.
After catching the ball, Hasnain was propelled into the striker’s end by his body momentum. Then a cheerful Khan purposefully scampered across to him in an attempt to give him a harmless shove, which Hasnain was able to thwart. To add to the drama, Sarfaraz went toward Khan while signalling to strike him for bothering his fast bowler from behind the stumps. The way the entire situation played out made both the commentators and the audience chuckle, but everyone did so in good humour.

Asif Ali and Azam Khan have grabbed control of the situation after losing four wickets by the 10th Over mark and are on their way to a century-run stand for the fifth wicket.
