Haris Rauf, a Pakistani bowler currently playing for Lahore Qalandars in the ongoing 8th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2023), has voiced his intention to Dismiss Babar Azam and Virat Kohli.

Rauf was seen talking with Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar during a practice session in a video posted on social media by Qalandars. Rauf said that he wants to get rid of the two top hitters at any cost throughout the conversation.

Rauf was heard saying: “No matter what happens, I just need to take your wicket! Only Virat Kohli and you are the exceptions right now. Kane Williamson was saved from slip twice. But I have these 3-4 players in my mind.”

Rauf has definitely dismissed him on a few occasions in the nets, the Pakistani skipper retorted. But in response, the quick bowler said he wanted to get his wicket in a game.

Interestingly, Haris Rauf and Kohli faced off at the T20 World Cup in Australia last year. The great batsman defeated the pacer in a game of one-upmanship by smashing two consecutive sixes at a vital moment to turn the tide in India’s favor.

Haris Rauf’s performances have been a bit underwhelming:

The 15th match of PSL 2023 will feature Peshawar Zalmi vs. Lahore Qalandars at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where Haris Rauf will have the chance to Dismiss Babar Azam.

Lahore is presently in fourth place in the points standings with two victories out of three games. Peshawar, on the other hand, is mired in last place with two victories and as many defeats in their four games.

Babar Azam has been doing well with the bat thus far, amassing 171 runs from four games at a strike rate of 131.53. He has two half-centuries under his belt and leads his team in runs scored this year. The performances by Haris Rauf haven’t been all that impressive. In the competition, he has taken just two wickets at a 10.45 economy rate.
