Shan Masood, a top-order batsman for Pakistan who is presently playing for Multan Sultans in the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), spoke on his team’s devotion to and admiration for Babar Azam, the nation’s captain.

Shan stated that the entire team is totally behind Babar Azam and is ready to support him in any manner possible in an interview with a local media news channel.
“We were ready to give our lives when Sarfaraz Ahmed was our captain, and now we are ready to give our lives for Babar Azam,” said the batter.

He said that Azam is an excellent captain who merits the team’s continuous support and lauded his leadership abilities. He continued by saying that the team’s ultimate goal is to represent their nation while playing at their peak ability.
When asked about the negative press the team and captain have received, Shan Masood responded, “We watch a lot of news on criticism of the team but we don’t get upset by them as our shared goal is to play for our country.”
He highlighted that players put their country, their captain, and all of their teammates above themselves. He highlighted that as players, they put the team and their captain first and that all of their decisions are made with the goal of obtaining the desired outcomes.

Recently, Pakistan’s vice-captain for the white ball team, Shadab Khan, spoke out in favour of Babar Azam and claimed that the country of Pakistan does not value him because he is greater than Kohinoor.
“I think we are doing injustice with such a diamond. Pakistan has been blessed with such a big diamond. He is even a bigger diamond than Kohinoor. As a nation, we are not valuing Babar for what he is worth and are pressurizing him. At the end of the day, he is also human. We should respect him the way the world respects him,” Shadab Khan said.
Pakistan failed to win a single Test at home under Babar Azam’s captaincy in 2022 and recently lost an ODI series to New Zealand at home as well.
