Fazalhaq Farooqi of Islamabad United was fined 10% of his match fee for violating the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Players Support Staff on Thursday night at the Pindi Cricket Stadium during his team’s play against Lahore Qalandars, the 26th game of the HBL PSL 8.

The incident happened in the 19th over of Lahore Qalandars’ batting when Farooqi used abusive language after dismissing the batter.

Lahore Qalandars defeated Islamabad United by 119 runs on Thursday in the 26th game of the Pakistan Super League at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Before to this, Lahore Qalandars, bowling first, achieved 226 runs in the allotted twenty overs while losing five wickets. For Lahore Qalandars, Fakhar Zaman scored 115 runs, while Fazalhaq Farooqi took three wickets for Islamabad United.

Islamabad United’s reply saw them go down for 107 runs in 15.1 overs. For the Lahore Qalandars, Rashid Khan grabbed four wickets while Zaman Khan and Haris Rauf each took two.

Fazalhaq Farooqi was fined for using abusive language:

Fazalhaq Farooqi of Islamabad United was fined 10% of his match money for violating the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Players Support Staff during his team’s play against Lahore Qalandars in the 26th fixture of the HBL PSL 8 on Thursday evening at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.

Farooqi was found to have breached PCB Code of Conduct Article 2.5, which states that: “Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during a match.”

Farooqi used foul language after removing the batsman in the 19th over of the Lahore Qalandars’ batting.

Farooqi entered a guilty plea and agreed to the sentence suggested by match referee Roshan Mahanama. On-field umpires Aleem Dar and Faisal Khan Afridi levelled the charge.
