The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to host the draft for the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Lahore later this year. The draft is scheduled to follow the conclusion of the National T20 Cup, marking a crucial event in assembling teams for the PSL 2024.

The PSL governing council held a meeting at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf, headed the event, where the council discussed various aspects related to the PSL, including the draft on December 14.

During a meeting at the National Cricket Academy, representatives from all six HBL PSL franchises, along with PCB officials, engaged in a productive and in-depth discussion. The topics covered included various operational and logistical aspects of the next PSL edition.

PSL Governing Council To Write Letter To Interior Ministry

Amid the upcoming general election in Pakistan in February 2024, the HBL Pakistan Super League governing council unanimously agreed to seek formal advice from the government to determine the exact dates and venues for the next edition of the T20 tournament.

The PCB will formally write to the interior ministry to inquire about the feasibility of hosting PSL9 in Pakistan during the election period or considering a relocation to the UAE. The final decision on the venue will be contingent upon the government’s directive based.

The tentative schedule for the ninth edition of the PSL is from February 8 to March 24, 2024. The 2024 PSL is planned to occur in the window following the conclusion of SA20 and ILT20 and preceding the commencement of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
