India bowled out New Zealand for just 108 in the second ODI in 34.3 overs. This is one of their lowest totals against the Indian team. New Zealand have never won an ODI series against India in India and a loss in the second ODI meant that they lost yet another ODI series.

Rohit Sharma used six bowlers and all of them got wickets with Mohammed Shami picking up three wickets and Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar picking up two each. Eight Kiwi batters were dismissed in single-digit scores in Raipur’s  Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium which hosted its first-ever international game. It was India’s 50th venue that hosted a men’s ODI in India.

The Kiwis after being put into bat lost wickets at regular intervals in the first 10 overs. Mohammed Shami picked up the first wicket of Fin Allen (0) in the very first over. That started the procession with all the top five Kiwi batters dismissed for single-digit scores.

Shami took two and Hardik, Siraj and Shadul took one each to dismantle the Kiwi top-order. The batters failed to judge the pace and the bounce of the wicket and eventually played rash shots to get out. The bowling from Indian bowlers were on target.
