Ravindra Jadeja was the winner of the fielding medal for his exploits during the semi-final 1 of the ICC World Cup 2023. The all-rounder was at his exceptional best with his fielding at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Ravindra Jadeja was electric in the field during the semi-final. He took some brilliant catches and also saved runs for his team, which was one of the many reasons why India won the game and advanced to the final of the tournament in Ahmedabad.

Apart from Ravindra Jadeja, keeper-batter KL Rahul also was exceptional with the gloves as he took some brilliant takes. He was also one of the nominees for the fielding medal along with Mohammed Siraj, who looked great on the field as well.

India’s fielding coach T Dilip lauded the team effort and praised them for coming back strongly after being under pressure. Speaking in a video posted by BCCI, he explained:

“This is what happens when your individual talent is fueled by a common goal. I think it’s not always being flawless on the field. I think everyone make mistakes but the champion teams are the one that bounce back from the challenge and the way we showed commitment and putting bodies on the line was outstanding.

“I think till now we had added a dash of creativity in all the league games in how we announce the winners. Today it’s not how we are going to do it but who and what we are looking at. I think the way we put our bodies on the line, the way everyone was committed i don’t think so I  need something else to show that it’s a great thing. Whole guys all collective effort made it beautiful and that’s the best thing I felt.”
