England spinner Sophie Ecclestone and batter Tammy Beaumont scripted history after their magnificent performance in the ongoing one-off Women’s Ashes Test. Both the English players set the stage on fire and put their team in a dominating position. 

Coming to Sophie Ecclestone, she bagged fifers in both the innings and put her team in a commanding position. She returned with the figures of 5/129 and 5/63 in two innings respectively and bagged the overall figures of 10/192.

With her five-wicket haul in both innings, Sophie Ecclestone became just the 10th woman to take 10 wickets in a Test. Not only this but she also became the fifth overall, and second from England alongside Julia Greenwood, to take five-wicket hauls in both innings.

AUS vs ENG: After Sophie Ecclestone, Tammy Beaumont Breaks Multiple Records After Her Exceptional Batting Performance Against Australia 

Not only Sophie Ecclestone but Tammy Beaumont too etched her name in the record books. In the first innings, she slammed a magnificent double ton and ended with a knock of 208 runs and then followed it up with a 22-run knock in the second innings.

Tammy Beaumont with her double hundred in the first innings became the only women’s player to make a score of 200+ in a Test match, 150+ in an ODI, and 100+ in a T20I. She also became the first from her country to score 200 runs in a Test innings, surpassing Betty Snowball’s tally of 189 runs.

Tammy Beaumont is now only the second batter in women’s cricket to score a century in all three formats of the game. The English batter is also the second-highest runs aggregate in a women’s Test and the highest in England.
