England pacer Stuart Broad achieved a rare feat in Test cricket as he became just the 5th bowler in the history of the longest format of the game to complete 600 wickets. The lanky pacer achieved the feat in the ongoing 4th Test of the Ashes 2023 at Old Trafford in Manchester.

It couldn’t have been any better platform for Stuart Broad to achieve the milestone as he completed it against the arch-rivals. The right-arm pacer broke the 600-landmark after he removed Travis Head for 48 runs as Joe Root caught him in the deep.

Stuart Broad, who has been the backbone of England’s bowling lineup in the Tests, became the second fast bowler to achieve 600 wickets in Tests. He’s also the second player from his nation to achieve the feat after great James Anderson, who is approaching 700 wickets in the longest format of the game.

Stuart Broad started the ongoing Manchester Test at 598 wickets. He drew the first blood for his side after he removed Usman Khawaja in his first spell before removing Travis Head in the first over of the last session of Day 1.

Not only this but Stuart Broad also surpassed Ian Botham to become the leading wicket-taker against Australia in Tests. He has taken 149 wickets, surpassing Botham, who took 148 scalps against Australia in the longest format of the game.
