Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has been a man on the mission in the ongoing second Test against West Indies at Port of Spain in Trinidad. The opening batter surpassed MS Dhoni to become India’s fifth-highest run-getter of all time.
Rohit Sharma who smashed a magnificent ton in the first ton has oozed his class yet again and played another exceptional innings in the second game. He gave a rollicking start to his team and stitched 139 runs for the opening partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal (57).
Rohit Sharma played some blistering strokes and looked flawless in his innings. He ended with the score of 80 runs as he got a peach of a delivery from Jomel Warrican. The Indian skipper batted for 143 balls and also smashed 9 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. He looked all set for another big innings but unfortunately couldn’t carry on.

Rohit Sharma broke quite a few records in his innings at Trinidad and lead from the front. Apart from becoming the 5th highest run-getter for India, he became the second fastest to 2000 runs as an Indian opener and also smashed 2000 runs in WTC history. If this was not enough he also is among the leading run-getters among active cricketers.
Rohit Sharma is now the 3rd highest run-getter among active players. During his innings, he surpassed David Warner (17267) to achieve the feat and only has now Virat Kohli (25461) and Joe Root (18420) ahead of him.

Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run-getter for India in international cricket with 34357 runs to his name. He’s followed by Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid, who have piled up over 24000 runs. Sourav Ganguly along with Rohit Sharma also feature in the list.
