Indian superstar Virat Kohli had a glorious rise to the top as the took modern-day cricket by the horns and changed the game single-handedly. However, as all good things must come to an end, it’s time that Virat Kohli gracefully bows out of the Fab 4. For the unaware, Fab 4 is the common name used to describe the once-in-a-generation talent collectively Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Joe Root, and Kane Williamson.

While Virat Kohli may have managed to revitalize his white-ball career with some great knocks last year, things have not changed when it comes to the longest format of the game as Virat is still waiting for his first century in more than three years. Meanwhile, his fellow Fab 4 have continued to put their stamp of authority.

While a lot of people still believe Virat Kohli arguably is the best batter out of the Fab 4, the statement is just partially true. Going by all-time numbers, Virat Kohli undisputedly stands head and shoulders over the others, but his recent stats and figures tell a different story.

Based on the stats and figures from last year, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli struggled with the bat. While he did manage to find some of his forms in the closing months, the year-long story was pretty much the same. Throughout the year Virat Kohli managed just two tons across formats which put him at number 3 amongst the Fab 4. While Kohli struggled with the bat, Joe Root and Steve Smith were on fire scoring 5 and 3 centuries respectively.
