India and Zimbabwe take on each other in the second ODI in Harare on August 20. The visitors won the first ODI by 10 wickets which helped them take a 1-0 lead in the series. The hosts need to win the second game to keep the series alive. 

Shubman Gill (82*) and Shikhar Dhawan (81*) helped India achieve the target inside 40 overs. The Indian team is coming into this series after winning an ODI and T2I series against West Indies.

The selected players are in good form with a few of them making a comeback to the team. Deepak Chahar on his comeback took 3/27 and was the Man of the Match in the game. He spoke about his fitness after winning the game for India.

” The landing was a little hard and when you play an international game after six and half months, obviously you will be a little nervous. Before coming here I played at least 4-5 practice games and the body and mind wasn’t working together in the first few overs, but it got better after that. I’m fine and the body is fine as well” he said.

The weather in Harare was pretty good when Bangladesh played Zimbabwe recently in a white-ball series. All the six matches were played out completely with no rain affecting the games. A full day of sunshine is expected to greet the players for the first ODI. The match starts at 12.45 pm IST which is 9.15 am local time.

The temperature will be around 28 degrees in the morning and will get to around 30-32 degrees by the afternoon and evening. The weather conditions will be clear, warm and sunny when the match starts. 

In head-to-head encounters, India and Zimbabwe have played 64 ODIs with each other. Out of these, India has won 52 ODIs while Zimbabwe has won 10 games. While playing in Zimbabwe, India has won 19 games and lost 4 matches out of 23. Going by how the first ODI panned out, the captain who wins the toss will favour chasing at this venue.
