India and Zimbabwe will meet in the third and final ODI of the series. ZIM vs IND 3rd ODI is scheduled to be played on Monday (August 22) at the Harare Sports Club, the same venue for the first two ODI matches. 

KL Rahul is the captain of the Indian team, while Regis Chakabava is leading Zimbabwe in this series. The visitors have already claimed the series with back-to-back victories in the first two games to take an unassailable 2-0 lead. 

After Indian bowlers, boosted by the return of Deepak Chahar, displayed sheer brilliance to fold up Zimbabwe’s innings at 189 in 40.3 overs.

Playing his first competitive game since February 2022, Chahar claimed a three-wicket-haul with figures 3/27. Chahar was well supported by Axar Patel (3/24) and Prasidh Krishna (3/50) in decimating the Africans’ batting lineup.

Gill (82 not out off 72 balls) and Dhawan (81 not out off 113 balls) mustered their third 100-plus stand in the last four innings to take India past the finishing line with 115 balls to spare.

In the second ODI, India shot down the hosts to a lower target of 161 in 38.1 overs with Sean Williams (42) and Ryan Burl (39) contributing with essential runs. Sanju Samson remained unbeaten on 43 in 39 balls, including three fours and four sixes, to finish the proceedings for his side and earned the player of the match. India won by five wickets in just 25.4 overs.

With victories in the first two games, India extended its win in the African nation to 21 games and the hosts have only managed to beat their counterparts on four occasions.
