Former England National Cricket Team skipper Michael Vaughan has made a huge claim, saying that the team that will be able to defeat India National Cricket Team will win the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is the 13th edition of the 50-over Cricket World Cup, which is scheduled to be held from October 5 to November 19 in India. This is the first time India will be hosting an ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup alone. They previously co-hosted the World Cups with other countries in 1987, 1996, and 2011.

A total of 10 teams will take part in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The marquee tournament is set to be played across 12 different venues in the country. Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Mumbai, Pune, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram are the 12 venues for matches. Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram will only host warm-up matches.

It’s quite clear to me. Whoever beats India will win the WC – Michael Vaughan

Former England captain Michael Vaughan seemed extremely impressed with India’s batting masterclass in the first ODI of the three-match series against Australia National Cricket Team at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Sunday, September 24.

Losing the toss and batting first, India were able to post a mammoth 399/5 on the board. As opener Ruturaj Gaikwad got out for a low score, Shreyas Iyer joined Shubman Gill in the middle and together they built up a 200-run partnership with both the batters hitting brilliant centuries.

Then, Suryakumar Yadav hit a marvelous 72 runs off 37 balls and was well supported by KL Rahul (52) and Ishan Kishan (31) as India gave a huge target to the Aussies.

Impressed with India’s performance, Michael Vaughan took to his official X handle to state that the team that will beat India will have the best chance to lift the ICC World Cup 2023 trophy.

Michael Vaughan opined that India have got a great batting unit and their bowling lineup looks settled. The former England skipper feels that only the pressure of the burden is something that could stop Team India. Michael Vaughan stated:

“It’s quite clear to me… Whoever beats #India will win the WC… India’s batting lineup on Indian pitches is ridiculous… Plus they have all the bowling options covered… it’s the only the pressure of the burden that could stop them.”

Meanwhile, India comprehensively thrashed Australia in the second ODI by 99 runs to take a 2-0 lead in the series. The third and final match of the series will be held at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on September 27.
