Former Australia captain Mark Waugh lashed out at Cameron Green after he got run out during the India vs Australia 2nd ODI in Indore. Cameron Green was inside the crease but he did not ground his bat, due to which he was adjudged run-out by third umpire.

The incident occurred in the 20th over when Sean Abbott got an inside edge onto the pad and the ball rolled towards the keeper Ishan Kishan. However, there was enough time to take a single. Wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan hit the stumps as the Aussie duo tried to sneak the single.

At first, it looked like Cameron Green was well within the crease. Even Ishan Kishan felt that Green was inside the crease in time. The on-field umpire Kumar Dharmasena asked for a referral and the third umpire adjudged Green out. In the replays, it was visible that although Green had reached inside the crease, he did not ground his bat when the ball hit the stumps.

That’s Just Lazy: Mark Waugh Lashes Out At Cameron Green

Mark Waugh, who was in the commentary box during the moment, lashed out at Cameron Green on air for his lazy efforts. Waugh lambasted the Australia all-rounder for not following the basics.

“Talking about bizarre incidents tonight, add that to the list. That’s just lazy. At this level, you’ve got to be doing the basics well. I know this game is probably gone, but you still need to be putting pressure on yourself individually to do the right things … it’s been a sorry day for him – he went for 100 with the ball, and now he gets run-out,” Mark Waugh said during commentary.

Earlier, Green was hit for 103 runs in his 10-over spell in the 1st innings. The right-arm seamer grabbed 2 wickets, however, emerged too costly.
