As per the reports. Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, and Mohammed Shami haven’t joined the team in Rajkot and are assumed to be rested. Therefore Rohit Sharma will be having a new opening partner in the dead rubber third ODI against Australia.

Rohit Sharma has been in fine form in ODIs. He looked in great touch during the Asia Cup 2023 and helped his team win the tournament. The senior opener would be hoping to get some runs before going into the ICC World Cup 2023.

Whether I score one hundred or 2 hundreds or even no hundred, we have to win the World Cup – Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma was recently asked about if he can repeat in this World Cup what he did in 2019. Replying to this, he said that his focus is not on the centuries as he just wants to win the tournament. Speaking to Vimal Kumar on his YouTube channel, he explained:

“Whether I score one hundred or 2 hundreds or even no hundred in this World Cup 2023, we have to win the World Cup Trophy and this is the main goal.”

Rohit Sharma smashed 5 centuries in the 2019 World Cup. India would be hoping he replicates the same this time around.  Going into the tournament this year, he will be one of the crucial aspects for his team.
