Former Pakistan National Cricket Team captain Salman Butt has backed the bold claim made by the former England National Cricket Team captain Michael Vaughan that the team that will be able to defeat India National Cricket Team will win the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

India have started to peak at the right time just before the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at home. They recently won the Asia Cup 2023 and defeated Australia in a three-match ODI series at home. The Men In Blue will be entering the tournament as favorites and will aim to end their ICC trophy drought, having won their last ICC tournament in 2013.

Recently, Michael Vaughan seemed impressed with India’s performance in the Indore ODI against Australia and he took to his official X handle to state that the team that will beat India will have the best chance to lift the ICC World Cup 2023 trophy. He wrote:

“It’s quite clear to me… Whoever beats #India will win the WC… India’s batting lineup on Indian pitches is ridiculous… Plus they have all the bowling options covered… it’s the only the pressure of the burden that could stop them.”

India are the only one in world cricket to have this ultimate rise – Salman Butt

Now, Salman Butt has made a similar kind of statement while speaking in a video shared on his official YouTube channel. Butt said that Team India are on the ultimate rise and they have a great batting and bowling unit. He elaborated:

“India are the only one in world cricket to have this ultimate rise. Everyone is talking about four teams to watch out for in the upcoming World Cup. However, what I believe is that the team that beats India will win the World Cup. India are the best team. Their batting is complete, and their bowling is most suitable to these conditions. Unless they themselves make mistakes, it is unlikely that any team will be even near them.”

Salman Butt further said that everything in Indian cricket is of the highest quality and they have made significant growth over the years. He said:

“India have improved significantly over the past few years. The fitness levels of these players are far better than what we say 15 years back. Similarly, the fielding standards have also improved. From infrastructure to commentators to experts to their kit, everything related to cricket in India is top-notch.”

Butt also opined that Indian cricket has improved despite the growth of the franchise-based T20 leagues across the globe, unlike all the other teams in the world. Salman Butt said:

“Amid the rise of franchise-based T20 leagues, India is the only country whose cricket has improved. Test cricket and ODIs have suffered a lot with the increasing popularity of T20s. However, in spite of that, India are one team who have done well across formats. On the other hand, there has been a drastic fall for the rest of the teams. All other sides are struggling due to the rise of T20 leagues.”
