For Indiam, seven players will not be a part of the third ODI namely Shubman Gill, Shardul Thakur, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Varma, Prasidh Krishna, Mukesh Kumar, and Axar Patel. While Gill and Thakur have been rested, Axar has not yet recovered from his quadricep injury and is rehabilitating at the NCA. The rest of the players were in the squad for the first two games.

Talking about head-to-head, both teams have played 148 ODIs between themselves with India winning 56 and Australia 82 matches. As many as 10 games have ended with results. In India, out of 67 matches, the Aussies have won 32 games while Team India 30. Five matches ended with no result.
