It was all smiles for KL Rahul, who led India to the series win against Australia. It was the first time India defeated Australia in a bilateral ODI Series since 2020. KL Rahul led the Indian side in the absence of Rohit Sharma and India won the first two matches of the three-match ODI Series. KL Rahul scored consecutive fifties in the first two matches and was spot-on with his bowling changes and field placements.
KL Rahul has been in terrific form since returning from his injury, the batter silenced his critics after scoring a brilliant century against Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super 4s. It was a really special comeback from KL Rahul in the Asia Cup 2023 and he carried his form against Australia in the ODI series scoring consecutive half-centuries alongside keeping the wickets and leading the side.
KL Rahul said that winning the series against Australia is a huge morale booster since the Kangaroos have had the upper hand against India in the past couple of years. He also talked about how crucial was the Asia Cup win for the side given that India were in must-win situations a lot of time. Eventually, India won the Asia Cup 2023 and KL Rahul made a huge contribution to the win.
KL Rahul Talked About The Series Win Against Australia
“Yeah, I mean, the last few weeks have been the same mindset for everybody. The Asia Cup was really important for us. Every game was a must-win game, almost. You’re playing really competitive teams the same. It was the same here in this series. You’re playing a great Australian team, and they’ve always had the edge over us in India in the last couple of years,” said Rahul on the series win.
KL Rahul is all set for the World Cup and hopefully, he will be batting at number 4 and will also keep wickets for the team. Ishan Kishan is another Wicketkeeping option but Rahul has been consistent with his batting and keeping so it will be a tough choice for the team management to select the wicketkeeper. The Asia Cup combination is one of the best bets as it includes both Kishan and Rahul and both of them have been in great form.
