5. Murali Vijay

Till December 2018, Murali Vijay was a Test opener for India. However, during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in December 2018, Mayank Agarwal was introduced as an opener for Team India. With his excellent performance in the series, he got a permanent place in the Test team.

As a result, Murali Vijay lost his place as the Test opener. Ravi Shastri replaced Vijay with Agarwal in the series and later, Vijay never got a chance to play again for Team India.
