Indian chief selector Chetan Sharma resigned from his post last month. Shiv Sundar Das has become the interim chief selector for India. Indian team does not have a chief selector currently but BCCI will soon appoint a deserving candidate for the post.

MSK Prasad was the chief selector of the Indian team from 2016 to 2020. During his tenure, the Indian team failed to win any ICC trophy, even after reaching the semi-finals and finals in some tournaments. From 2016 to 2020, India did not manage to win any single ICC trophy.

MSK Prasad is also connected with a few bad decisions for the Indian team like not picking Yuvraj Singh in the shortest format and not giving opportunities to Suresh Raina. Prasad also picked Vijay Shankar in ICC ODI World Cup 2019 squad, a decision that was regretted later.
