The fourth day of the highly anticipated World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia was marked by a controversial catch that resulted in the dismissal of Indian batsman Shubman Gill. The catch, taken by Australian all-rounder Cameron Green off the bowling of Scott Boland, created a stir among players and fans alike with Ricky Ponting also being dragged into the mix.

Ricky Ponting, now a commentator for the match, had been involved in a similar incident during the infamous Sydney Test in 2008, where his catch to dismiss Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly was met with widespread criticism. Interestingly, Ganguly himself is part of the commentary team for the WTC final.
