The fifth and final day of the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia will be played at the Oval in London on Sunday, June 11. The Australian cricket team is slightly ahead of the Indian cricket team in the crucial Test match.

The Rohit Sharma-led team needed 280 runs on the final day of the Test match to win. The Pat Cummins-led team, on the other hand, has to pick up the remaining seven wickets. Both India and Australia have a chance to become the first team to lift all ICC trophies.

The first four days of the match played without any interruptions, but the rain and thunderstorms are expected to disrupt the final day’s play. The UK’s weather office issued a yellow alert for Sunday, with 30 percent chances of precipitation during the afternoon.

According to Accuweather, there is a 90% chance of rain at the Oval on Sunday, with a 36% chance of thunderstorms. Temperatures will be around 28 degrees Celsius. The chances of rain are highest during the afternoon and decrease in the evening and night.

As per the BBC, “while some places will be largely dry, thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail are likely to develop in places on Sunday afternoon.”

A reserve day is available on June 12. If the match is delayed for a few hours due to rain, it can be moved to a reserve day. The same duration will be played on reserve days. Australia and India will be named joint champions if the match isn’t possible on reserve day or if the game ends in a draw or tie.

Pat Cummins declared Australia’s second innings on 270 runs for the loss of eight wickets. The Aussies set up a target of 444 runs for India in the summit clash. The Rohit Sharma-led team ended the fourth day with 164 runs on the board after losing the top three batters.

Shubaman Gill was dismissed for 18 runs in a controversial manner when the team score was 41 runs. Rohit (43) and Cheteshwar Pujara (27) added 51-run partnerships, but they got out in quick succession. Virat Kohli (44) and Ajinkya Rahane (20) remained at the stumps.
