Australia skipper Pat Cummins would be pumped up after winning ICC WTC 2021-23 final. It won’t be wrong to say that Pat Cummins was the bowler’s captain as he stood behind them in the crunch moments of the match.

Scott Boland was the wrecker-in-chief in the 2nd innings as he took key wickets of Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli & Ravindra Jadeja. Despite the conditions favoring fast bowlers, Scott Boland had to toil a lot for his wickets.

Aussies though have a steep challenge ahead in the form of Ashes 2023. Australia haven’t won Ashes series in England since 2001. Last time in 2019, the Aussies had squared the series by 2-2 under the then skipper Tim Paine.

I think there will be natural progressions- Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins was having an interaction with the ICC and stated that a player is selected irrespective of the age difference. Pat Cummins pointed out that there won’t be pushing anyone of the team prematurely.

“I have always said that if a team member is 18 or 38 and still is in our best XI, I want them picked. I think there will be natural progressions, but I do not think there will be us kicking anyone outside of the team or pushing anyone out of the team prematurely,” said Pat Cummins.
