New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson played an exceptional knock in the summit clash of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 against Aaron Finch-led Australia National Cricket Team at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, November 14.

Following the trend, Australia won the toss and opted to field first and they made no changes in the playing XI and fielded the same team. New Zealand Wicketkeeper-batsman Devon Conway who is ruled out of the Final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 as well as the subsequent tour of India after a self-inflicted fracture in the right hand was replaced by wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert in playing XI.

Batting first New Zealand were off to a very slow start and the star performer of the semi-final Daryl Mitchell got out early and Kane Williamson joined forces with Martin Guptill to carry forward the innings of Kiwis. New Zealand were at 32/1 in the 6 overs and they managed to score only 57 runs in 10 overs.

After that Opener Martin Guptill got out after playing a very poor knock of 28 runs off 35 balls. However, Kane Williamson stood strong in the one end and kept scoring runs.

After starting slow Williamson accelerated his innings by smashing some beautiful looking boundaries against the Aussie bowling unit. In the 16th over Kane Williamson went berserk against left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc and smashed 22 runs.

However, after playing an exceptional knock of 85 runs off 48 balls including 10 fours and 3 maximums captain Williamson got out in the 18th over which was bowled by Josh Hazlewood. Meanwhile, In the end, New Zealand posted 172 runs on the board.
