Veteran India leg-spinner Amit Mishra made a blunder on Twitter following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup, which Australia won by defeating New Zealand in Dubai.

Amit Mishra, however, in his congratulatory tweet mentioned the Black Caps as the winner, and congratulated Kane Williamson’s side; he tagged the Black Caps Twitter handle.

Netizens were quick to jump on this and had a good laugh about the senior leg-spinner’s social skills error.

About 25 minutes later, Amit Mishra deleted that tweet and added a new one, congratulating the Australian team and was careful this time to tag Cricket Australia’s Twitter handle.

So proud to be the first Australian team to be able to do it: Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch felt extremely proud after leading Australia to their maiden T20 World Cup title by thumping New Zealand by 8 wickets.

Australia chased down 173 with 7 balls to spare courtesy of blazing fifties from Mitchell Marsh and David Warner after Kane Williamson’s stunning 85-run knock.

Australia, who lost to England in the 2010 T20 World Cup final, now have their hands on the trophy which had been eluding them since 2007, and Aaron Finch is the captain to bring it to the Land Down Under.

“This is huge. To be the first Australian team to be able to do it. So proud. We knew our backs were against the wall. We had some great individual performances, some great team performances,” Aaron Finch said at the post-match presentation.

David Warner was rewarded with the Man of the Tournament award. He ended up as Australia‘s leading run-scorer – and second only to Babar Azam – scoring 289 runs at an average of 48, while striking at 146.

Warner struck three fifties in the tournament, including a crucial knock of 53 runs off 38 balls in the final to set up for Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell’s late assault. Mitchell Marsh was adjudged the Man of the Match for his terrific 50-ball 77 in the final.
