Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has termed Australia’s Shoey Celebration in which players drink beer from shoes as “disgusting.”
The final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 saw the battle between Kane Williamson-led New Zealand and Aaron Finch-led Australia at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, November 14 and Australia won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 championship by defeating New Zealand National Cricket Team by 8 wickets.

Australia were not considered as favourites to win the championship as they were heading into the World Cup with 5 consecutive series losses however, they won the World Cup.

Meanwhile, after the maiden T20 World Cup triumph Australian players were seen celebrating in the dressing room. In one of the videos posted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on their official Twitter handle, semi-final star performer Matthew Wade was spotted pouring beer into his shoes and then started drinking from it. Also all-rounder Marcus Stoinis who performed very well in the semi-final drank the beer from the shoes.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar was not at all impressed by Australia’s celebrations and he wrote on his official Twitter handle

Talking about the match Australia won the toss and invited New Zealand to bat first and batting first New Zealand captain Kane Williamson led the team from the front smashing brilliant 85 runs off 48 balls including 10 fours and 3 maximums and helped the Blackcaps post 172 runs on the board.
Chasing the target captain Aaron Finch lost his wicket early on in the innings. However, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh added sensational 92 runs off 59 deliveries. In the end, Marsh and Glenn Maxwell marched Australia towards the victory.
